Senior QA Engineer II (Healthcare)

Location: Remote in Canada; preference for candidates able to work Pacific Time Zone (PST) hours.

Base salary: $145,000–$165,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Lead quality efforts for products supporting healthcare providers, patient workflows, and diagnostic reporting.
• Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and partner teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Develop risk-based test strategies, plans, cases, documentation, and quality standards for complex systems.
• Perform manual and automated testing across web and mobile applications, including exploratory, functional, acceptance, regression, end-to-end, and UI testing.
• Test REST APIs, backend services, integrations, accessibility, performance, and security based on product risk.
• Drive defect resolution, root cause analysis, release readiness, CI/CD test integration, and cross-functional process improvements while mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software quality assurance experience and a record of leading cross-functional quality initiatives.
• Deep knowledge of QA methodologies, test design, risk-based testing, web and mobile technologies, client-server architecture, APIs, integrations, and system dependencies.
• Hands-on experience testing native or cross-platform iOS and Android applications across devices, operating-system versions, screen sizes, and network conditions.
• Experience testing REST APIs and backend services, developing or improving automation frameworks, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge of accessibility testing and WCAG, experience with tools such as Axe, Lighthouse, or screen readers, and strong analytical, communication, mentoring, and process-improvement skills.
