Software Development Engineer in Test (AI)

Location: Remote, Canada; candidates must reside in Canada

Salary: CAD 80,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Own quality for assigned features, services, or components.
• Design and execute risk-based test approaches aligned with product intent.
• Build and maintain automated tests across API, UI, and integration layers.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor pipeline health, failures, and flakiness.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and quality leaders on testability, defect prevention, and root-cause analysis.
• Apply agent-assisted and agentic workflows where appropriate.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Experience supporting quality for production software systems and working on cross-functional product teams.
• Solid foundation in test automation, especially API and UI testing.
• Ability to read, understand, and write production-level code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and modern development workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted or agentic testing workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems or microservices.
• Exposure to contract, performance, or reliability testing.
• Familiarity with developer tooling or platform teams.
• Experience with Jenkins, Grafana, Playwright, Linux, or C#.
