RF Engineer (Radar/AI)

Location: Onsite in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, United States; field testing may be required.

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Design and develop RF components and subsystems for radar applications, including antennas and RF hardware.
• Analyze RF performance, evaluate design tradeoffs, and recommend technical solutions.
• Build and evaluate prototypes through simulation, laboratory measurements, and documented test plans.
• Integrate RF hardware with radar subsystems and troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, and systems engineers.
• Support field testing, compare measured results with design expectations, and implement design improvements.
• Review technical work, share findings, and improve testing methods and documentation.

Requirements

• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship is required; future U.S. government security clearance may be required.
• Ability to work onsite in Hoffman Estates and participate in field testing as needed.
• 5–7 years of RF engineering experience involving hands-on design, integration, or testing of RF hardware.
• Degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of impedance matching, gain, noise, filtering, transmission lines, and signal integrity.
• Experience using vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes to characterize and troubleshoot hardware.

Nice to have

• Experience with radar, sensing, communications, or other RF systems.
• Antenna design or electromagnetic simulation experience with HFSS and phased arrays.
• Antenna chamber design and automation using Python.
• RF PCB design, layout review, or manufacturing partner collaboration experience.
• Firmware development in C, Git, Linux, or RF testing outside the laboratory.
