Senior RF Engineer (Aerospace & Defense): Designing, prototyping, testing, and sustaining high-reliability RF and microwave electronics for aerospace and defense systems with an accent on RF circuit design, component trade studies, and hardware integration. Focus on troubleshooting real-world RF performance, correlating simulations with measurements, and validating mission-critical systems through laboratory and field experiments.

Location: Full-time, on-site in Hawthorne, California, United States; the posting also lists El Segundo, California.

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 annual base compensation, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.

Company

hirify.global develops defense products powered by Coherent Distributed Networks for aerospace, commercial aviation, and border protection applications.

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, prototype, and tune RF circuit boards using MMICs, LNAs, power amplifiers, baluns, filters, mixers, bias networks, and matching networks.
  • Develop RF architectures and perform component trade studies against system-level performance requirements.
  • Plan and execute RF testing, characterization, integration, and troubleshooting at board, module, and subsystem levels.
  • Design and specify RF test equipment, fixtures, and automation for laboratory and field experiments.
  • Collaborate with systems, power, digital, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate RF hardware into larger systems.
  • Support the full product lifecycle, including simulations, PCB layout, production support, failure analysis, and fielded-system sustainment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of RF engineering experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing RF hardware for aerospace, defense, avionics, radar, electronic warfare, communications, or space systems.
  • Strong knowledge of gain, noise figure, linearity, phase noise, stability, impedance matching, and system-level RF performance.
  • Hands-on experience with VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and complex RF troubleshooting.
  • Experience with RF simulations and PCB layout tools such as HFSS, ADS, AWR, and Altium.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with radar, electronic warfare, remote sensing, communications architectures, or RF front-end integration.
  • Experience with antenna and system integration, EMI/EMC, environmental constraints, DO-160, MIL-STD-461, or similar standards.
  • Experience correlating simulation, analysis, and measured data to reduce technical risk.
  • Experience with production hardware, fielded systems, mixed-signal interfaces, manufacturing constraints, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability.
  • Active U.S. security clearance.

Culture & Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage fully paid by the company.
  • 401(k) with a 50% company match up to 6% of pay, plus FSA, HSA, and life insurance.
  • Unlimited paid time off, free daily lunch, no-meeting Fridays, and a casual dress code.
  • Competitive base salary, pre-IPO stock options, relocation assistance, and planned annual bonuses.
  • Work with a growing organization of approximately 350 employees across five global offices.
