Bindery Operator 2 KR

Location: St. Charles, Illinois, USA; onsite production role. Available shifts include 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.

Salary: $21.20–$28.65 per hour, with the actual rate depending on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary and automatic bindery machines, including cutters, folders, collators, stitchers, drills, gluing machines, perfect binders, and related finishing equipment.
• Coordinate multiple machine stations to process printed sheets into books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines, and other finished products.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and make adjustments based on paper weight, color, machinability, and quality.
• Direct the production crew through manufacturing activities and monitor quality, output, and productivity.
• Train others in new processes and lean methodologies.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and bindery specifications, calculate distances and clearances, and independently select appropriate equipment.
• Experience using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
• Knowledge of automatic binding machines, multi-station collators, folding units, cutting equipment, and finishing operations.
• Knowledge of coated and uncoated paper stocks and their machining requirements.
• Ability to stand throughout the workday.
• Must understand, speak, and follow English instructions.
