Senior Global Support Engineer, Digital Pathology

Location: Onsite in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Occasional domestic and international travel of less than 10% is required.

What you will do

• Resolve complex, high-priority third-level support escalations for digital pathology products and provide technical guidance to field support teams.
• Own service and support readiness for Change Request and New Product Development projects.
• Validate service procedures in representative environments and deliver project work on schedule.
• Partner with R&D, Quality, Product Management, and Support Units to document defects, feature requests, technical service bulletins, and product improvements.
• Improve support processes, Standard Work, technical documentation, and field readiness through structured problem solving and Kaizen activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least five years of experience in technical support, field service, hardware or software engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, software configuration, and technical software used for instrument and system configuration.
• Ability to independently investigate complex technical issues, evaluate evidence, and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to global audiences.
• Flexibility to start early or work late, including occasional weekends, to support customers and projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with medical devices or regulated environments, including Good Manufacturing Practices and quality systems.
• Hands-on experience with digital pathology systems such as Aperio GT Platform, Aperio FL, CytoVision/CytoInsight, or VERSA.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux, SQL, or command line utilities.
• Experience using AI assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot for technical research, evidence analysis, documentation, and workflow improvement.
