Technical Support Operations Manager

Location: London; hybrid work with attendance in the office 3 days per week

What you will do

• Oversee the integration and full software lifecycle of internal, multi-user tools and applications.
• Lead user-facing IT support and improve the technical support operating model across the Alphabet and Google ecosystem.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing technical operations team.
• Partner with Workplace, Engineering, Scientists, and other stakeholders on the technical operations roadmap.
• Deliver stable, scalable, and high-performing services for scientists, researchers, and engineers.

Requirements

• Experience managing a small team while remaining hands-on with end users, ideally in technical support.
• Extensive experience providing end-user support and solving complex internal problems.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management and SSO.
• Experience working with non-technical teams and leading onboarding, offboarding, and ticketing processes.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, SQL, or Go for automating repetitive operational workflows.
• Ability to develop the strategy for a systems administration group.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of security best practices.
• Experience with developer experience tools.
• Excellent documentation skills with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
