What you will do

  • Handle a varied caseload of litigated motor injury and credit hire claims within the County Court jurisdiction.
  • Progress files in line with client instructions, handling authority, performance targets, and quality standards.
  • Interview witnesses, draft statements, pleadings, and applications, and liaise with insured parties, insurers, witnesses, and other claim participants.
  • Instruct counsel and attend conferences, consultations, mediations, hearings, trials, and settlement conferences in person or remotely.
  • Maintain accurate case management systems and up-to-date management information for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with LSNI regulations and applicable litigation procedures.

Requirements

  • Law degree and qualification as a solicitor with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Understanding of case law, litigation practice and procedure, and Court Rules.
  • Good telephone advocacy, research, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to work to agreed targets and service-level agreements, with strong client-care skills.
  • Previous defence insurance litigation experience is desirable but not essential.
