Trading Operations Analyst - Power (Energy)

Location: San Antonio, Texas; Houston, Texas; or Findlay, Ohio, United States. Estimated travel: less than 5%.

What you will do

• Support power supply planning for refinery and industrial electricity needs across North America.
• Track daily power positions, market exposure, refinery electricity costs, and related commercial activity.
• Support profit and loss reporting, supply and demand models, position reporting, trade reconciliation, and settlement activities.
• Monitor day-ahead and real-time power prices, forward curves, congestion, basis, load, generation outages, weather, natural gas prices, and other market events.
• Develop and maintain commercial models, dashboards, reports, and tools covering power exposure, electricity costs, hedge performance, spark spreads, and trading opportunities.
• Prepare market updates, position summaries, cost reports, ad hoc analyses, and presentations for Commercial, leadership, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Operations stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Marine, or a related discipline.
• Three or more years of experience in Commercial, Risk, Trading Analytics, Marine, Scheduling, or Marketing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and follow-through skills, with the ability to organize large volumes of market, cost, and operational data.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts, and structured data tables.
• Experience identifying errors, outliers, missing data, and inconsistencies in large datasets.
• Ability to work across commercial, operational, technical, financial, back-office, and risk teams.
