Payroll Specialist

Location: Denver, Colorado or Long Beach, California; hybrid or remote within the United States. Applicants must be U.S. Persons eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Base salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, excluding benefits and bonuses.

What you will do

• Review timecard data before payroll submission and investigate the root causes of errors.
• Coordinate with HR leadership and other HR team members to support accurate, timely payroll cycles.
• Work with third-party payroll providers and support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Prepare periodic payroll and workers’ compensation reports, including reports for management requests.
• Communicate with stakeholders across the organization.
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of HR files and records.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Excel and current experience with Workday Payroll.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• U.S. Person status and eligibility to obtain required export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with ADP systems.
• Associate’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with NetSuite.
