Software Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Location: US - Remote Eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required as agreed with the manager.

Salary: $162,000–$186,000 USD base pay per year, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

What you will do

• Design and build web features with React, TypeScript, and component-driven architecture.
• Turn product concepts into polished, accessible, and responsive web experiences.
• Collaborate with backend, iOS, and Android engineers to maintain consistent feature behavior and data across platforms.
• Own features from technical design through launch and iteration.
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code and design reviews.
• Investigate and resolve web application bugs, performance issues, and reliability problems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional front-end or web engineering experience.
• Experience shipping features for a large-scale production consumer web application.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and React or a comparable modern framework, including component architecture, state management, and data-fetching patterns such as GraphQL.
• Experience integrating APIs and collaborating with backend and mobile engineers.
• Understanding of web performance, WCAG accessibility, responsive design, and CI/deployment practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and feedback-oriented working habits.
