Application Developer (AI)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Develop, test, debug, and implement software solutions for business requirements and system specifications.
• Design and develop small technical modules with limited guidance, and assist with resolving coding issues.
• Provide technical support for existing systems, including help desk escalation, issue analysis, and monitoring support trends.
• Support product feature testing and validation to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Develop technical documentation and collaborate with Business and IT stakeholders to define and manage release scope.
• Work with business analysts, vendors, and project teams on plans, requirements, and software delivery for Japan.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• More than three years of application development experience and proven experience as an Application Developer in the insurance industry.
• Strong technical skills in Express, Angular, Node, and React.
• Ability to interpret process models, requirements, and business scenarios and translate them into software solutions.
• Understanding of agentic development concepts, including designing or using autonomous AI agents for workflow automation and data analysis.
• Japanese-speaking ability is required.

• Experience in fast-paced environments with rapidly changing requirements.
• Experience with international projects, particularly projects related to Japan.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across cross-cultural and cross-functional teams.
