TL;DR
Perinatal Care Technician - Labor and Delivery - Full Time - Nights (Labor and Delivery/Operating Room): Supporting labor and delivery operating rooms through sterile instrument preparation, patient care, equipment maintenance, and surgical team coordination with an accent on cesarean sections, obstetric procedures, and safe operating-room workflows. Focus on maintaining sterile fields, managing surgical counts and specimens, responding to emergencies, and coordinating patient transfers and unit support during 12-hour night shifts.

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire, United States. On-site night shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., 30 hours per week.

What you will do

  • Support patient care activities in labor and delivery operating rooms under the direction of registered nurses and clinical leaders.
  • Prepare sterile instruments and supplies for cesarean sections, cerclage placement, postpartum tubal procedures, laceration repair, D&C, cystoscopy, and related obstetric cases.
  • Maintain sterile fields, perform sponge and sharps counts, manage specimens, support surgical briefings and time-outs, and assist with case closure.
  • Clean, disinfect, inspect, inventory, and maintain operating-room equipment, instruments, supplies, carts, and patient-care areas.
  • Assist with patient assessment, positioning, transfers, vital-sign observations, bedside testing, infant hearing screening, and recovery-room preparation.
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, communications, ancillary services, databases, scheduling, supply ordering, and unit process improvements.

Requirements

  • High school graduation.
  • Current New Hampshire Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure required.
  • At least two years of healthcare experience with labor and delivery experience required.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple activities, communicate effectively, and collaborate with obstetric and nursing teams.
  • Prior knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
