Patient Care Technician-Medical-Surgical-Oncology Full-Time Nights

Location: 1 Kish Hospital Dr., DeKalb, Illinois, United States; full-time night shift

Salary: $17.05–$23.02 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under RN supervision, including monitoring vital signs, measuring blood glucose, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and support unit workflow.
• Answer calls and intercom requests, communicate information, and coordinate with patients, families, and staff.
• Validate admission, discharge, and census lists as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or completion of one semester of nursing clinical education.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, communicate effectively, and function under stressful conditions.
• Ability to work onsite in DeKalb, Illinois, during night shifts.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant program or phlebotomy course.
