TL;DR
Dry Dock Interiors Technical Manager (Cruise Ship Technical Operations): Planning and delivering interior refurbishment, safety, and technical systems projects during cruise ship dry docks with an accent on stateroom services, HVAC, laundry, recreational water facilities, and steel work. Focus on developing technical scopes, managing contractors and vendors, controlling budgets and schedules, and ensuring regulatory, quality, and safety compliance across complex multi-stakeholder projects.

Location: London, United Kingdom. Based in the London Hammersmith office four days per week, with either Monday or Friday working from home. Occasional international travel and work with ships in different locations are required.

What you will do

  • Plan and execute interior technical refurbishment and safety projects during cruise ship dry docks.
  • Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, contractor documentation, and project reports.
  • Manage tenders, evaluate supplier proposals, support negotiations, and oversee vendors and contractors.
  • Coordinate shipyards, contractors, regulatory bodies, onboard leadership, and internal teams.
  • Manage project budgets, labor costs, materials, logistics, schedules, risks, and vendor performance.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure technical, safety, regulatory, and company standards are met throughout design, installation, and completion.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in dry dock management or shipboard hotel and ship services engineering, with experience in interior technical systems and hotel-area refurbishment.
  • Project management experience with complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects, including budget and schedule control.
  • Experience evaluating and negotiating vendor bids and managing finances for high-value dry dock projects.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and negotiation skills for work in a multicultural environment.
  • Competence with IT tools and Microsoft Office for planning, reporting, and technical documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, interior design, marine technology, or a related technical discipline; flexibility to travel and work between US and UK offices.
