Safety Champion (Manufacturing)

Location: Desford, Leicestershire, United Kingdom. On-site operations role with multi-shift work: 14:00–22:00 or 22:00–06:00. Flexible working arrangements may be considered in line with business needs.

Salary: £28,969 starting salary, rising to £30,450 once competency triggers are met.

What you will do

• Design and deliver safety training for team leaders and managers.
• Lead daily safety walks and monthly safety meetings.
• Coach individuals and teams on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
• Support incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Collaborate on safety communications and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion a proactive safety culture across operations.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of HSE practices.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to manage an independent workload.
• Team-focused mindset, flexibility, and passion for safety improvement.
• Ability to work multi-shift schedules.

Nice to have

• Relevant safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
• Willingness and ability to work toward a safety qualification such as NEBOSH or BSC Level 3.
