Operational Excellence Manager (m/f/d) 80%-100% (Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead innovation and Operational Excellence projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve manufacturing performance and operational efficiency.
• Own the asset improvement roadmap, strengthening process robustness and reliable long-term drug substance supply.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Technical Services leaders to define continuous improvement objectives.
• Coach employees pursuing White Belt, Yellow Belt, and Green Belt certifications.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and use data-driven analysis to support sustainable business outcomes.
• Coordinate transformation initiatives and promote innovation, problem-solving, and Lean thinking across the microbial manufacturing asset.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, Operational Excellence, or continuous improvement in a GMP-regulated environment.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification with demonstrated success delivering measurable business improvements.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Ability to coach, train, and mentor employees across different Lean Six Sigma certification levels.
• Business-fluent English is required; German is an advantage.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
• Master Black Belt or Lean Master certification.
• German language skills.
