Senior Mechanical Engineer (Pharmaceutical Engineering)

Location: Basel, Switzerland; office-based. Willingness to travel within the DACH region is required.

What you will do

• Coordinate the mechanical design team and deliver project scope within agreed budgets and schedules.
• Own equipment modules and packages through design and procurement.
• Prepare data sheets, material requisitions, enquiry packages, technical specifications, and vendor bid evaluations.
• Develop equipment packages through kick-off meetings, design reviews, and factory acceptance tests.
• Manage suppliers through design, manufacturing, and testing.
• Interface with clients, vendors, end users, project managers, and other disciplines while providing mechanical optimization and site support.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Chemical or Process Engineering degrees may be considered with relevant process experience.
• 10+ years of design experience in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors.
• Experience with design and package management of process equipment for API, fill-finish, or biopharma projects.
• Confidence coordinating others and leading technical reviews with clients and suppliers.
• Professional working proficiency in English and German is required.
• Willingness to travel within DACH; chartered status is desirable.
