AI-First Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid in the Carmel, Indiana headquarters, United States

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable internal services, applications, APIs, and operational tooling.
• Develop cloud-native backend services supporting self-service portals, asset management, provisioning workflows, and core platform capabilities.
• Use AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Data, Security, SRE, and subject-matter experts to deliver durable technical solutions.
• Improve system reliability, performance, security, and observability while supporting live production systems and on-call rotations.
• Contribute to engineering standards, technical direction, and long-term platform modernization.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience building and supporting production software systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience with backend and API engineering, frontend applications, or both, plus the ability to own features and systems end-to-end.
• Active use of AI development tools such as code copilots, AI debuggers, and test generators, with the ability to critically evaluate AI output.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement at the Carmel, Indiana headquarters.

• AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Microservices and event-driven architectures.
• SQL and data-driven applications.
• Reliability engineering or SRE experience.
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy systems.
