Backend Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Arlington, VA, United States; onsite; U.S. citizenship required

Base salary: $159,000–$195,000 annually. Estimated total compensation: $204,000–$263,000, including target bonus and estimated equity value.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable backend services in Go for operator decision-making and response.
• Build high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs for customer-facing workflows and internal platforms.
• Model complex relationships in graph databases and optimize schemas and queries.
• Develop event-driven systems with technologies such as NATS to process real-time operational data.
• Build, test, and operate microservices on AWS across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Create CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with product, frontend, and cyber operations experts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience building backend or full-stack applications.
• Strong Go proficiency with production services experience.
• Experience with graph databases, event-driven architectures, APIs, cloud infrastructure, containers, and microservices.
• Strong foundation in secure coding practices and security tradeoffs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering software for defense, security, or other mission-critical environments.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
• Experience with large-scale data processing, observability tooling, and open-source projects.
