TL;DR
Simulation Engineer (C++/Python/Aerospace): Developing, integrating, testing, and sustaining high-fidelity spacecraft simulation capabilities for NASA Orion MPCV and Artemis missions with an accent on real-time 6-DoF simulation, docking software, and large-scale systems. Focus on building verification artifacts, integrating simulation rigs and spacecraft test laboratories, debugging complex software, and maintaining requirements traceability across the software lifecycle.

Location: Full-time on-site in Littleton, Colorado or Houston, Texas; remote work is not available. U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 per year, depending on job-related skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

  • Support docking ground software systems engineering for Orion MPCV and Artemis 3 missions.
  • Develop, integrate, debug, maintain, and test simulation software using C++ and Python.
  • Support real-time six-degree-of-freedom simulation development and integration with simulation rigs, test environments, spacecraft laboratories, and ground systems.
  • Develop unit, functional, integration, and system-level tests, including test procedures, test cases, dry runs, and verification artifacts.
  • Maintain requirements traceability, configuration management, and software version control.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, test, and spacecraft engineers, technical leads, and government customers to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physical sciences, or a related technical field.
  • At least five years of experience supporting spacecraft programs.
  • U.S. citizenship and on-site work in Littleton, Colorado or Houston, Texas are required.
  • Professional experience with C++, Python, Linux development environments, real-time 6-DoF simulation, and large-scale software systems.
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle, aerospace engineering concepts, Agile development, and complex software debugging.
  • Experience with Perforce or comparable version-control tools and IBM DOORS or similar requirements-management tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with spacecraft systems, Orion simulation environments, docking operations, or spacecraft test laboratories.
