Simulation Engineer: FEA & Multi-Body Simulation (AI)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid schedule with 2–3 days per week in the central NYC office. Travel domestically and globally for customer work for up to 2–3 weeks per quarter.

What you will do

• Build complex structural and multi-physics models, including geometry cleanup, meshing, simulation, and post-processing.
• Integrate experimental data for model validation and communicate engineering results clearly to customers.
• Partner with customers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to define and solve engineering challenges.
• Generate high-quality simulation datasets for machine and deep learning models using data sampling techniques.
• Accelerate high-fidelity modelling with the Flux cloud platform and on-premise HPC resources.
• Document technical work through reports and process notes for the shared knowledge base.

Requirements

• 2+ years of industry experience after a Master’s or PhD delivering FEA, MBS, or structural dynamics analysis in a commercial engineering environment.
• Hands-on expertise in structural dynamics and vibration, with the ability to apply engineering fundamentals to real-world problems.
• High proficiency in at least one FEA solver: Nastran, Abaqus, or ANSYS.
• High proficiency in at least one MBS solver, such as Adams, SIMPACK, Virtual Dynamics, or Excite M.
• Working knowledge of pre- and post-processing tools, including SimLab, HyperMesh, OptiStruct, or HyperGraph, and proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Ability to work 2–3 days per week from the NYC office and travel to customer sites.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in parametric CAD modelling with NX or CATIA.
• Exposure to open-source tools such as CalculiX or OpenRadioss.
