Cyber Software Engineering Professional (Cyber Security)

Location: Hybrid in the United Kingdom — Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Glasgow, or Belfast. The role requires attendance at the contractual location three days per week, with two flexible days.

What you will do

• Develop a custom software product using open-source software for Global Security Operation Centre processes.
• Engage with internal teams and turn user stories and ambiguous requirements into systematic technical solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex business and technical challenges where solutions or processes may not yet exist.
• Participate in sprint planning, create tickets, and manage assigned work against project deadlines.
• Provide technical support to maintain and improve the integrity of security information processes and systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, equivalent commercial experience, or demonstrable self-taught software development expertise.
• Source control experience with Git.
• Passion for software development and problem-solving, with a diligent and thoughtful approach.
• Ability to work from a UK contractual location three days per week.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity background.
• Python and backend development experience with Django or FastAPI.
• Frontend development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or React.
• Experience with UML, design, REST APIs, UI/UX, Postgres, MongoDB, testing, or CI/CD.
