Safety Coordinator (Manufacturing)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, USA; onsite at a recycling plant

Pay rate: $28.11 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Improve facility safety and health systems to reduce accidents and occupational illness.
• Coordinate daily activities required to meet regulatory and internal safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
• Promote safety programs and accident prevention among hourly and salaried employees.
• Conduct compliance audits and facility safety inspections, initiating corrective actions to eliminate hazards.
• Support a safety-conscious culture through employee engagement, coaching, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree in health and safety or a related science field is preferred.
• 2–4 years of related safety experience in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and industry requirements.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English; bilingual Spanish is helpful.
