Software Engineer 3 (Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Design and implement operating system techniques for managing virtual systems on x86 architectures.
• Architect scalable container services, container runtimes, and Kubernetes capabilities integrated with ESXi and vSphere.
• Develop highly available infrastructure for workloads distributed across clusters and zones, including network and storage requirements.
• Maintain open-source code, address security fixes, and keep upstream Kubernetes features current.
• Build platforms supporting SaaS, CaaS, and FaaS workloads while collaborating with product management, architects, designers, test teams, and other stakeholders.
• Deliver reliable features on a regular release cadence and refine designs through stakeholder feedback.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with a BS or 3 years with an MS.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python; Golang is a plus.
• Deep understanding of Linux/Unix internals, including processes, threads, memory management, and I/O.
• Experience with system software projects, developing, debugging, and optimizing operating system services or user-space applications.
• Familiarity with Docker/containerd, Kubernetes architecture, cloud-native technologies, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
