TL;DR
2027 Summer Internship (US) - Supply Chain Engineering (Manufacturing/Supply Chain): Analyzing operational data, optimizing workflows, maintaining KPI dashboards, and supporting supply chain initiatives with an accent on manufacturing, repair, distribution, and data-driven process improvement. Focus on developing actionable recommendations, improving operational efficiency, and presenting project findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Location: Hybrid internship in Lincolnshire, Illinois, or Holtsville, New York, with at least 3 days of in-office attendance.

Salary: USD $30.00–$40.50 hourly

What you will do

  • Analyze operational datasets, identify trends, track performance metrics, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Review and improve workflows to increase operational efficiency and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Maintain reports, trackers, and visual dashboards for key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on daily operational needs and ongoing initiatives.
  • Complete an individual or team project and present actionable recommendations and findings to leadership.
  • Develop planning, organizational, leadership, technology, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate, MS, or MBA program in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Anticipated graduation date between May 2027 and December 2029.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable business narratives and present insights to managers and cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

  • Coursework, certifications, or project experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, time-study standards, line balancing, factory-floor flow simulation, or PLM tools.
  • Experience creating interactive dashboards and automated reports with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and basic data modeling.
  • Prior internship, engineering co-op, or capstone experience involving process optimization, cost reduction, or supply chain readiness.
