Presales Customer Engineer (Network Security)

Location: Hybrid, Sydney, Australia. Travel of up to 20–50% may be required for customer meetings, conferences, industry events, and in-person collaboration.

What you will do

• Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, validate customer requirements, and design hirify.global architectures across DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, Network Security, and Workers.
• Define proof-of-concept and technical validation plans, success criteria, presentations, architectural diagrams, and demonstrations.
• Guide technical onboarding and adoption through migration blueprints, configuration best practices, deployment strategies, health monitoring, and risk reduction.
• Own technical customer relationships throughout onboarding, renewal, and expansion while identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
• Lead technical business reviews and explain platform capabilities, return on investment, architecture, security posture, and deployment confidence to technical and executive stakeholders.
• Use AI agents, LLMs, scripting, and internal platforms to automate RFP responses, sandbox provisioning, telemetry monitoring, and documentation; create technical enablement resources for internal teams and customers.

Requirements

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Forward Deployed Engineering.
• Ability to design and clearly explain complex enterprise network and security architectures, including to engineers and C-level executives.
• Experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environments, with knowledge of SaaS metrics, business value translation, and enterprise sales cycles.
• Depth in at least four technical areas covering Internet fundamentals, security, performance, AI proficiency, coding or scripting, and developer platforms.
• Knowledge of Internet protocols and infrastructure such as BGP, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), SSL/TLS, WAF, Zero Trust, SASE, APIs, SDKs, webhooks, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience creating technical workshops, code samples, documentation, or developer onboarding materials.
• Knowledge of LLM orchestration, RAG architectures, and model-access controls.
• Understanding of PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2 requirements.
• Background in hyperscalers, digital-native companies, distributed systems environments, or startups.
