What you will do
- Lead planning and execution of quantum computing system deployments and commissioning at customer sites across Europe and Asia.
- Manage export, import, customs, logistics, and delivery activities for highly specialized hardware.
- Coordinate global mobility for deployment teams, including visas, work authorization, travel, and field assignment readiness.
- Drive site readiness with facilities, security, networking, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
- Coordinate staffing, installation sequencing, onsite vendors, critical paths, risks, and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience running technical programmes or deployments of complex hardware systems.
- Hardware background and a technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience moving equipment and people across borders, including export, customs, and visa processes.
- Ability to manage critical paths across teams without direct reporting lines and communicate technical status to engineers, executives, and customers.
- Availability to work onsite in Oxford three days per week and travel approximately 30–40%.
- Strong working English; an additional European language is a bonus.
Nice to have
- Experience taking a first-of-its-kind product from prototype into production.
- Experience installing or commissioning complex hardware at international customer sites.
- Experience with enterprise, government, or research customers during onsite deployments.
- Exposure to trapped-ion systems, photonics, or quantum computing.
- Master’s degree in a related technical field.
