Co-op, Neurology Research (Biotechnology)

Location: Cambridge, MA, United States. Full-time, 6-month student co-op from January to June 2027. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Salary: $23.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on academic level and degree candidacy.

What you will do

• Support Alzheimer’s disease and dementia research programs focused on β-amyloid-targeting drug candidates.
• Section multiple brain samples and perform immunohistological stainings.
• Acquire microscope images and analyze staining parameters using ImageJ or similar tools.
• Perform tissue homogenizations, fractionations, and ELISA experiments.
• Document experiments, write protocols, and maintain a clean laboratory workspace.
• Compile results into clear presentations for the wider research team.

Requirements

• Motivated student with an extensive biology background and laboratory experience.
• Major in biology with coursework in biology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university, or skills program/apprenticeship.
• Familiarity with mouse biopsy handling, including brain tissue and blood.
• Experience with wet-lab practices, precise pipetting, experimental protocols, microscopy, and image analysis.
• Must be at least 18 years old before the scheduled start date and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
