Senior Manager, Data Science

Location: UK Remote; regular collaboration and working-hours overlap with the US-based data science organization.

Compensation: €100K–€130K for US-based candidates; location-specific ranges may be provided by the recruiter. Equity may also be offered.

What you will do

• Establish the UK data science team’s working norms, technical culture, and onboarding practices.
• Lead the UK team as part of one distributed data science organization with the US-based team.
• Set the roadmap by prioritizing competing requests from Marketing, Operations, Product, and Finance.
• Review technical designs and code, resolve ambiguity, and maintain standards for documentation, experimentation, code review, and model monitoring.
• Own delivery of 0-to-1 machine learning builds, ensuring reliable production operation and measurable business outcomes.
• Develop data science and ML engineering talent while partnering with senior leadership on team structure and priorities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science or ML engineering, including 2+ years managing data scientists or ML engineers.
• Experience establishing a new team, office, or regional function and collaborating across countries or significant time-zone differences.
• Strong technical credibility in Python, SQL, applied machine learning, regression, classification, time-series methods, and causal methods.
• Experience with production ML systems, cloud environments, CI/CD, and MLOps.
• Demonstrated people leadership, roadmap prioritization, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, or Operations Research.

• Direct experience leading US/UK or similar transatlantic teams.
• Experience with customer propensity modeling, forecasting, optimization, or marketing measurement.
• Healthcare, direct-to-consumer, subscription, or pharmaceutical industry experience.
