Manufacturing Automaton Intern (June - August 2027)

Location: Onsite at the manufacturing facility in Anoka, Minnesota, US

What you will do

• Learn and support the application of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in plant operations.
• Create video training materials and translate AGV/AMR knowledge for users at different experience levels.
• Monitor daily AGV and AMR usage, support production material handling, and create inspection checklists.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize operational data to prepare reports and recommend solutions for robot-related issues.
• Conduct usability testing and manual testing to identify issues beyond the robot fleet manager.
• Support expansion of AGV and AMR usage at new and international production sites.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an engineering or related major such as mechanical, electrical, computer, industrial, robotics, automation, or mechatronics engineering.
• Expected undergraduate graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Must be authorized to work in the US now and in the future; visa sponsorship is not offered.
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, organization, adaptability, and personal responsibility.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with people at all organizational levels and across diverse backgrounds.
• Students from non-engineering majors with AMR/AGV knowledge and video-content skills may also apply.

Nice to have

• Experience with AMR or AGV systems or creating video content.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
