Mental Health Counseling Faculty

Location: Remote, United States; occasional domestic travel may be required, including residencies and pre-practica at least once per quarter.

Compensation: $1,560–$4,080 per graduate course per quarter or semester; $700–$2,200 per undergraduate course per quarter, depending on course type and length.

What you will do

• Teach assigned mental health counseling courses through Blackboard and interact with students in the online classroom.
• Maintain regular online availability, respond to student questions within 48 hours, and provide feedback and grades through Canvas.
• Mentor master's and doctoral students in academic, professional, and personal development.
• Supervise thesis, dissertation, research, and field training activities as applicable.
• Participate in program assessment, student support, residencies, pre-practica, and faculty meetings.
• Complete university training and maintain current research, licenses, and certifications.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program at an accredited or appropriately recognized institution.
• Current state licensure as a mental health professional; licensure or license eligibility may be required for specific programs.
• At least three years of experience teaching and mentoring master's and/or doctoral students is preferred.
• Experience supervising students in field training and supporting thesis or dissertation research.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, ZIP software, Blackboard, Canvas, and reliable internet access.
• Ability to participate in domestic residencies, pre-practica, national faculty meetings, and other work-related travel.

Nice to have

• Experience directing thesis or dissertation research.
• Training or experience in dissertation chairing and doctoral study committee service.
• Experience working with non-traditional students and supporting diversity and social change.
