Scientist - Medicinal Chemistry (PROTAC)

Location: Onsite laboratory position in Thousand Oaks, California, United States

Salary: $111,695.10–$151,116.90 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design, synthesize, and purify novel compounds for potential clinical drug development.
• Contribute to hirify.global’s Induced Proximity Platform and apply PROTAC approaches to modulate difficult disease targets.
• Develop and perform organic reactions, troubleshoot synthetic routes, scout new routes, and execute high-difficulty synthetic chemistry.
• Design new compounds and develop structure-activity relationships.
• Determine molecular structures using NMR and mass spectrometry, and purify compounds using multiple techniques.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks, participate in project meetings, present findings, and support scientific publications and patent applications.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or a master’s degree with 2 years of laboratory experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of laboratory experience.
• Experience scouting and troubleshooting synthetic routes and performing high-difficulty synthetic chemistry.
• Knowledge of structural determination using NMR and mass spectrometry, as well as compound purification methods.
• Good laboratory practices with particular attention to safety.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work onsite at the Thousand Oaks, California laboratory site.
