Location: San Diego Headquarters, San Diego, CA; onsite

Salary: $113,000–$142,000 for Research Scientist I; $125,000–$156,000 for Research Scientist II

What you will do

• Design and execute parallel synthetic methods to generate large, high-quality compound libraries.
• Develop and optimize synthetic methodologies for automation compatibility and high-throughput scalability.
• Translate bench-scale synthetic routes into robust automated processes.
• Operate, maintain, and advance automated synthesis, analytical, purification, and laboratory equipment.
• Analyze library compound data and communicate findings to chemistry, biology, software, and automation teams.
• Troubleshoot automated processes, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain laboratory safety and ELN data-recording standards.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with 0–5 years of industry experience, or an MS in Organic Chemistry with at least 8 years of industry experience.
• Strong command of modern organic synthetic methods.
• Hands-on experience with High Throughput Chemistry and/or Parallel Synthesis.
• Experience with laboratory automation, liquid-handling robotics, and automated analytical and purification systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex scientific concepts and technical results.
• Ability to work onsite at the San Diego Headquarters.

Nice to have

• Experience with Direct-to-Biology strategies for drug discovery.
• Familiarity with medicinal chemistry principles.
• Experience mentoring interns or junior colleagues.
