Staff Data Analyst (People Analytics)

Location: Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; San Francisco, California; or Washington, DC

Salary: $149,000–$205,000 annual base salary for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; a separate range of $133,000–$183,000 USD is also listed.

What you will do

• Analyze the employee lifecycle and build dashboards and reports covering hiring, attrition, engagement, performance, promotions, compensation, headcount, and organizational health.
• Partner with People Team leaders, business stakeholders, and data teams to translate workforce questions into analytical approaches and executive-ready insights.
• Design, build, and maintain predictive models for attrition, workforce forecasting, employee lifecycle analysis, and talent pipeline analytics.
• Apply regression, clustering, forecasting, survival analysis, segmentation, and other advanced statistical methods.
• Use NLP and text analytics to analyze employee surveys, onboarding feedback, exit interviews, and other listening channels.
• Prototype Generative AI use cases for narrative reporting and workforce decision support while maintaining data governance and privacy.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in People Analytics, HR Analytics, Workforce Analytics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Advanced proficiency with data visualization, reporting, data warehousing, spreadsheets, SQL, and enterprise HR platforms.
• Experience with Tableau, Snowflake, Excel, SQL, Workday, ServiceNow, and Greenhouse is highly preferred.
• Expertise in advanced statistics, data visualization, storytelling, and translating complex findings into business recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, influence decisions through data, and manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Strong programming skills in Python and/or R for statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and automation.
• Experience with Generative AI, NLP, and emerging AI technologies applied to analytics.
• Experience implementing data management and governance practices across large, complex datasets.
