Backend Software Engineer II (AWS & Data Platforms)

Location: Hybrid role with onsite presence at the Fort Mill, South Carolina office 2–3 days per week; the position is associated with Fort Mill/Charlotte.

Salary: $40.10–$66.83 per hour

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Build and optimize AWS Glue and PySpark data pipelines.
• Develop and deploy containerized applications on AWS EKS.
• Implement APIs and microservices with API Gateway and AWS Lambda.
• Integrate DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and other data stores and messaging systems.
• Ensure application security, scalability, performance, testability, and clear technical documentation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of proficiency in Python and related frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Strong experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Glue, EKS, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Experience with PySpark and relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub and CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming, data modeling, microservices, distributed systems, Agile development, and TDD.
• Availability to work onsite at the Fort Mill, South Carolina office 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• AWS Associate-level or other cloud certifications.
• Experience with Kong API Gateway, Kafka, Terraform, JIRA, pytest, or unittest.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools.
