Manager, Software Engineering (Marketplace Performance)

Location: Remote within the United States. Most roles can be performed remotely within the country of employment; occasional in-person office work and onboarding may be required.

Base pay: $230,000–$290,000 per year in California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut; $204,000–$264,000 per year in other U.S. states.

What you will do

• Set the technical strategy for the Marketplace Performance team over a year-long planning horizon.
• Lead delivery of business-critical marketplace monetization and ads platform projects.
• Partner with product management, design, analytics, Revenue, TAM, CSM, and merchant stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Own team operations, availability, monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, testing, alerting, and on-call readiness.
• Establish code review and design standards and promote engineering quality through writing and technical talks.
• Develop engineers through feedback, guidance, and technical leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin and highly available distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing consumer experiences with React or similar UI frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience in ad tech or related platforms.
• Equivalent practical experience or a bachelor's degree in a related field, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
