Principal Electronic Engineer (RF)

What you will do

• Serve as a senior technical resource for RF and high-frequency subsystem design, integration, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Turn early R&D concepts into subsystem approaches, prototypes, requirements, experiments, validation plans, and proof-of-concept hardware.
• Support product development, PCBA development, box-build integration, manufacturing, service, sustaining activities, and customer support.
• Guide RF architecture choices, measurement methods, test strategies, design reviews, validation planning, and technical tradeoffs.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex electrical and system-level issues.
• Mentor engineers and provide cross-functional technical leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong experience with RF engineering, high-frequency subsystems, measurement, troubleshooting, and system integration.
• Ability to solve complex, open-ended hardware problems through hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and engineering judgment.
• Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs, collaborate cross-functionally, share knowledge, and mentor others.
• Certain positions may require U.S. person status under ITAR or EAR requirements.
• MKS generally hires candidates residing in states where it is registered to do business.

Nice to have

• Master's degree.
• Experience with analog, mixed-signal, controls, power, cabling, interconnects, sensors, motion, or electromechanical integration.
• Experience with advanced industrial equipment and product-ready subsystem development.
