Security Control Assessor (SCA) I

Location: Onsite in Dayton, Ohio, United States. U.S. citizenship is required. Travel required: 10–25%.

Salary: $115,855–$156,745 per year, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.

What you will do

• Conduct comprehensive management, operational, and technical security control assessments for Collateral, SCI, and SAP information systems.
• Assess systems using the Risk Management Framework and Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide.
• Evaluate authorization packages, security documentation, threats, vulnerabilities, hardware, software, and proposed authorization-boundary changes.
• Prepare Security Assessment Reports and Plans of Action and Milestones, and provide written authorization recommendations.
• Advise information system, program security, and authorizing officials on assessment, authorization, impact-level, and corrective-action issues.
• Support continuous monitoring, compliance inspections, cybersecurity incident response, sanitization reviews, and system development life-cycle activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience, including 3 years in SAP, SCI, or Collateral information systems security.
• Prior experience as an ISSO and ISSM, including implementation of applicable security regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or an associate degree plus 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• TS/SCI clearance and willingness to submit to a CI polygraph.
• U.S. citizenship and onsite work in Dayton, Ohio are required.
• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• IAT Level III certification such as CISSP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, or CISA; certification is required within 6 months of hire.
• IAM Level I certification may be accepted in lieu of IAT Level III.
