Terminal Superintendent (Fertilizer Operations)

Location: Albany, Illinois, United States; on-site terminal operations

Base pay: $99,500–$139,900 per year, plus an incentive program and benefits for full-time employees.

What you will do

• Manage all facets of a liquid fertilizer storage and handling facility, prioritizing safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead facility personnel, assign and evaluate work, and train operators and administrative staff.
• Coordinate product receipt and shipment, inventory management, shipping records, product quality, shrink, and related documentation.
• Coordinate emergency, preventive, and contract maintenance, including troubleshooting compressors, pumps, and other facility equipment.
• Maintain OSHA, DOT, state, and local regulatory documentation and relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Oversee safety inspections, emergency exercises, Process Safety Management activities, and site incident-command responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree is preferred.
• Experience with NH3 storage and handling and/or dry product warehousing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance procedures, especially compressors and pumps.
• Experience managing people and processes, with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing approximately 80 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, and reaching.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, wear personal protective equipment, and work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
