Facility Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; on-site. Frequent travel to the RELLIS campus and other facility sites is required.

What you will do

• Own the complete configuration of the PWR-5 facility, including systems, structures, components, documentation, and change records.
• Build and maintain the Master Equipment List with rigorous completeness, accuracy, and version control.
• Develop and manage preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs across facility systems.
• Evaluate, document, validate, and coordinate approval of facility configuration and equipment changes.
• Act as the technical liaison between engineering and operations and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
• Support facility walkdowns, incident reviews, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and DOE compliance documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, nuclear, electrical, systems engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in operations engineering, plant engineering, facility engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in plant or facility environments, including operating or construction-phase industrial facilities.
• Strong systems-level thinking and experience documenting complex system interactions and interdependencies.
• Familiarity with configuration management, change control, and maintenance management programs.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, audit-ready technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience in nuclear, power generation, or another highly regulated industrial environment.
• Experience working within DOE, NRC, or equivalent regulatory frameworks.
