Maintenance Mechanic I (Medical Device Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including molding machines, automated assembly equipment, welders, conveyors, case sealers, printers, labelers, and flow wrappers.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance according to manufacturer schedules, procedures, and facility guidelines.
• Verify repair effectiveness and ensure manufactured products meet specifications.
• Fabricate new fixtures and modify existing equipment to support production requirements.
• Support production, engineering, management, operators, and contractors with mechanical maintenance guidance.
• Order spare parts, maintain maintenance and production logs, and recommend safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar production-environment role.
• Strong mechanical, problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, and technical skills.
• Ability to read and understand manuals, schematics, diagrams, instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Knowledge of machine tools, programmable logic controls, and basic electrical and electronic repairs.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and database entry.

Nice to have

• Technical degree, certification, or apprenticeship in a related field.
• Maintenance experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical, electrical, or computer certifications.
• Experience operating machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines.
