Member of Technical Staff - Automation Specialist

Location: On-site in the New York office, United States

Salary: $140,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity and equity refreshers.

What you will do

• Own insurance servicing workflows end to end, from intake through final delivery.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data, spreadsheets, scripts, APIs, internal tools, and AI systems to solve operational problems.
• Identify repeatable steps and codify decision-making to reduce manual work.
• Design for exceptions by defining decision rules, escalation paths, and feedback loops.
• Work with product and engineering to translate operational knowledge into automation requirements and test new capabilities.
• Measure improvements in workflow speed, reliability, and automation rather than manual activity volume.

Requirements

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to break ambiguous processes into rules, decisions, and edge cases.
• Technical fluency and experience with tools such as Python, SQL, SAS, MATLAB, R, advanced Excel, or similar.
• Precision and attention to detail when operating and redesigning complex workflows.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical teams.
• Comfort with a continuously changing role and progressively automating owned workflows.
• Ability to work on-site in the New York office.
