Nurse Practitioner (Family Practice)

Location: Bryan, Texas; full-time onsite work with travel to mobile school-based clinic sites in rural areas around the Brazos Valley

What you will do

• Deliver primary care to students, faculty, staff, families, and community residents through mobile clinic sites.
• Perform patient histories, psychosocial and physical examinations, diagnoses, treatment planning, procedures, medication management, and preventive care.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, electrocardiographic examinations, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, clinical staff, consultants, and other members of the interprofessional team.
• Precept advanced practice and pre-licensure nursing students and provide clinical education and consultation to staff.
• Lead full-time and PRN nurse practitioners, including team coordination, supervision, and performance management.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing or higher, with national board certification as a family nurse practitioner or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of directly related family nurse practitioner experience.
• Active Texas Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses, family nurse practitioner certification, and prescriptive authority are required.
• A Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is required.
• Experience with electronic health records, web-based applications, and standard office productivity tools.
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and confidentiality skills.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
• At least five years of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in health professions education.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
