Principal Product Manager (AI)

Location: Pleasanton, United States; candidates within a reasonable commute to a hirify.global office must work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $257,000–$322,000 base pay, with potential short-term and long-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Guide financial-close products through the full software development lifecycle, from conception to launch.
• Define and execute multi-year product strategy and business outcomes for a major product area or portfolio.
• Partner with engineering, design, marketing, Data Science, and internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze customer and market feedback to shape product positioning, packaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategy.
• Build alignment around product vision and make high-impact decisions in ambiguous situations.

Requirements

• 15+ years of product management experience, including major launches of highly scaled or 0-to-1 products.
• Experience owning strategy and business outcomes for a major product area or portfolio.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and product tools such as Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence, and product usage analytics platforms.
• Strong proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT, plus comfort building within an AI-native, agentic platform.
• Deep understanding of financial close and record-to-report processes, including regulatory, statutory, tax, and accounting requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience; strong strategic thinking, executive presence, and financial modeling skills.

Nice to have

• Experience taking horizontal enterprise products into vertical, regional, or specialized markets.
• Working knowledge of accounting or finance.
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows, confidence thresholds, human-in-the-loop review, and machine-learning-based capabilities.
