Principal Product Manager (AI)

Location: Mountain View, New York, or Redmond, United States

Salary: USD $165,600–$296,400 per year across the U.S.; USD $220,800–$331,200 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Own and deliver the roadmap for next-generation AI models, balancing product quality, delivery speed, risk, and strategic tradeoffs.
• Translate partner product needs into model requirements and align senior stakeholders across research, engineering, and product teams.
• Define data-driven model evaluations and benchmarks for frontier quality on product-relevant tasks.
• Establish launch-readiness criteria and own go/no-go decisions for model releases.
• Track advances in AI and convert emerging capabilities into product priorities and customer experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in product, service, or program management or software development, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of relevant experience preferred, including 4+ years taking products, features, or experiences to market.
• 5+ years defining product requirements for AI models and driving execution across senior stakeholders.
• 5+ years of hands-on collaboration with model researchers and ML engineers in areas such as training, evaluation, infrastructure, agentic models, or reasoning models.
• Experience improving product metrics, disrupting markets, and shipping best-in-class AI models or AI-enabled products.
• Ability to reason precisely about technical and commercial drivers and define go-to-market strategies for AI products.

• Experience bringing models, agents, or native AI products to market through close engagement with customers and developers across multiple verticals.
