What you will do

  • Analyze, design, and test custom FPGA firmware for the Terran R launch vehicle.
  • Own FPGA development across the full lifecycle, from concept and initial design through flight maturity, production, integration, and vehicle operations.
  • Perform RTL design, verification, synthesis, timing analysis, board bring-up, validation, and debugging.
  • Support design verification, qualification, hardware integration, and flight production across multiple products.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, electrical, software, propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams.
  • Use project management skills to keep hardware programs reliable and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of FPGA development and high-speed digital systems experience in mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics.
  • Technical expertise across the FPGA lifecycle, including RTL design, verification, synthesis, timing analysis, bring-up, and validation.
  • Experience with one or more HDLs, including VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolchains and SoC platforms from AMD Xilinx, Intel, Microchip, or similar vendors.

Nice to have

  • DSP experience in RF applications, including forward error correction, channel estimation, front-end theory, or modulation schemes.
  • Familiarity with SpinalHDL, Chisel, Vitis, SystemC, Simulink, or other HLS and code-generation tools.
  • Familiarity with RISC-V development toolchains.
  • Experience with version and configuration control, change traceability, code coverage analysis, and CI/CD build pipelines.
