Mid-Level PCB CAD Layout Designer (PCB Design)

Location: Remote in California, United States

Salary: $64,500–$101,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $79,500–$119,500 annually.

What you will do

• Design PCBs through component placement, routing, DRC, DFM checks, and documentation.
• Use Siemens Xpedition layout tools, including CES and EDM.
• Apply IPC standards, company requirements, and contract manufacturing guidelines.
• Participate in CAD entry, placement, and exit reviews and maintain compliance with CAD processes.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, NPI, DXF, and Test engineering teams on board profiles, interfaces, stack-ups, and quality.
• Release CAD data, drawings, and documentation into the PLM system and execute engineering change orders.

Requirements

• 2–3+ years of PCB design experience and 3+ years of direct experience with Siemens Xpedition, CES, and EDM.
• Basic understanding of PCB fabrication, tolerances, and IPC standards.
• Experience with digital/via stacks, RF/analog, or mixed PCB layouts.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and collaboration with mechanical engineering on board profiles, technologies, and stack-ups.
• Knowledge of product documentation, fabrication and assembly documentation, and PLM systems.
• U.S. citizenship verification is required upon accepting employment. An associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with multilayer flex and rigid-flex circuits.
• Knowledge of differential routing, controlled impedance, RF transmission lines, fine-pitch BGAs, matched lengths, and delay-controlled lengths.
• Knowledge of RF layout partitioning, shielding, mounting, grounding, bypass capacitors, and power schemes.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
