TL;DR
Spacecraft Structural Engineer I (Aerospace): Performing structural analysis, simulations, test definition, and design validation for spacecraft and space-system components with an accent on finite element modeling, dynamic environments, and structural margins. Focus on defining flight and ground-test loads, validating primary and secondary structures, and supporting spacecraft subsystem testing.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite work at hirify.global's global headquarters. U.S. citizenship is required for this program, and candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Base salary: $82,400–$113,300 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $89,350–$125,325 USD annually.

Company

What you will do

  • Define, process, and interpret static and dynamic ground-test and flight data, including sensor selection, data acquisition, validation, and environmental determination.
  • Perform and document structural analyses of primary and secondary spacecraft structures, including finite element model verification, material selection, trade studies, and mass optimization.
  • Run static, modal, random-vibration, buckling, and thermoelastic structural simulations.
  • Collaborate with design and test engineers to iterate concepts, define test requirements, and demonstrate positive structural margins.
  • Support testing of vehicle subsystems and components and lead technical projects across analysis and engineering teams.
  • Implement new analysis theory and tools and establish technical best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or another engineering discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Structural analysis experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.

Nice to have

  • Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering or another engineering discipline.
  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience analyzing additive-manufactured parts or composite structures.
  • Experience with sensor selection, data post-processing, and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with nonlinear material simulation and spacecraft-level structural test campaigns.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-paced environment focused on ambitious space missions, innovation, teamwork, and delivery under tight deadlines.
  • Company stock and an employee stock purchase program with a 15% discount.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, including HMO, PPO, and a zero-cost HDHP option with HSA contributions.
