Location: Remote within the United States, excluding North Dakota, Vermont, and Rhode Island. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance.
Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $149,500–$224,500 annually.

What you will do
- Perform structural analysis of spacecraft primary and secondary structures, payload components, mechanisms, ground support equipment, electronic packaging, and composites.
- Build conceptual structural models for proposals and design trade studies using finite element analysis and hand calculations.
- Prepare stress reports, presentation packages, and analysis documentation for design reviews.
- Evaluate structural effects of design changes, materials, manufacturing processes, and interfaces.
- Support structural testing through test-plan development, fixture design, FEM correlation, and requirements verification.
- Collaborate with mechanical, systems, materials, and thermal engineering teams to optimize hardware performance and reliability.
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience analyzing spaceflight hardware.
- Proficiency with Nastran for static, normal modes, buckling, and frequency response analysis, as well as Simcenter Femap modeling and post-processing.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, structural analysis and test methods, composites, fatigue and fracture mechanics, thermoelastic analysis, mechanisms, launch environments, and bonded and bolted joints.
- Knowledge of electronic packaging analysis, including PWA structures, solder-joint fatigue, connector and interconnect reliability, and thermal-mechanical coupling.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with LS-DYNA, ANSYS, or Abaqus.
- Experience with nonlinear, thermal-structural coupled, or vibroacoustic analysis.
- Coding experience in Python or MATLAB.
